What’s up everyone and welcome to the 4th and 1. today we will be talking about LSU Sports and what’s going on in there sports world. Baseball this week had a tough week after sweeping consecutive seasons and being on a 8 game winning streak. Auburn absolutely shut down LSU this week. Having the tigers not being able to hit the ball whatsoeve. Things will not be getting any easier for the tigers ethier as they will be taking on Alabama this weekend. Women’s basketball had a great season as well losing a heartbreaker to UCLA and Lauren Betts. LSU has started spring practice and from all reports seems encouraging. Micheal Van Buren Mississippi state transfer havina a year to learn under Garrett Nussmeir will be huge for him. That being said, look for Garrett to make huge strides this next season. Really think having a year under his belt he will be a top five QB in the country. On the flip side, LSU men’s basketball team is said to have taken a huge step in the NIL game versus years past. Last year the tigers were ranked bottom 2 nil spenders in the SEC with South carolina. Who ultimately both ended up finishing last in the sec. So there is definitely a direct correlation there. In The last two days the tigers have added UNLV Transfer 6’1 PG Dedan thomas who averaged 15.6 PPG along with 2.0 rebounds, and 4.7 ast, The tigers also added 6’10 C Micheal Nwoko who started 32 Games for mississippi state this past year and averaged 6.1 ppg, 4.6 rebounds, 0.7 AST LSU also just added Omaha (Nebraska) transfer Marquez Sutton who was the summit player of the year this past season and is coming off averaging 18.9 ppg. Further adding to LSU’s frontcourt. LSU is attempting to revitalize the entire roster losing around 6 players so far to the portal to open up cap space for incoming players. The current state of college sports is definitely in shambles and needs many more regulations, That being said, LSU has used NIL a great advantage now rather than years past. The article by Sports Illustrated states “that LSU basketball’s NIL budget was short of a mere $2 million, which ranked 13th out of 14 SEC programs coming into the year, which was before Texas and Oklahoma were added. The Tigers sit at the bottom of the conference alongside the South Carolina Gamecocks — the one team that spends less than them”
Sources have also reported that LSU Budget is much higher now than it has have ever had and is making a push to be the best team in the SEC.
LSU also added David Patrick top recruiter who is the head coach of Sacramento state and is considered one of the top coaches and the country and was formerly on LSU’s coaching staff. LSU fans will be fired up to see what David Patrick can do on the recruiting trail for the tigers.
